Every single recipe published on Real Dogs Real People undergoes physical kitchen testing and nutritional reviews to ensure it is safe, palatable, and balanced for dogs.

How We Test & Validate Recipes

  • Veterinary Compliance: We build recipes using safe proteins and base carbs. We calculate calcium-to-phosphorus ratios to ensure they meet adult canine maintenance standards.
  • Home Kitchen Testing: We physically prepare every recipe in a domestic kitchen. This lets us verify baking times, yields, and texture safety (ensuring treats aren’t choking hazards).
  • Size-Specific Portions: We calculate calorie counts per treat or batch so owners can portion them based on the 10% daily treat rule.
